I have long enjoyed the writings of John Stott, specifically his work on Ephesians, Basic Christianity and Between Two Worlds. I can’t wait to begin reading his new biography, Basic Christian: The Inside Story of John Stott.

C.J. Mahaney’s Office

Besides enjoying the 7 minute video tour of C.J.’s library (especially his enormous section of Spurgeon’s volumes) I couldn’t help but chuckle at the 2:07 mark, seeing that I’m a FedEx courier. Trust me, if I saw C.J. doing this every weekday, I too would think the same thing.

Expository Thoughts on the Gospels by J.C. Ryle
September 24, 2009 · 1 Comment
I picked up J.C. Ryle’s 7 volume commentary set Expository Thoughts on the Gospels this week. What a fantastic addition to my personal library. I’ve read a few pages from each volume and have already noticed the simplicity and depth of insight that I’ve grown to appreciate about Ryle over the past few years.

I thoroughly enjoyed Francis Chan’s book Crazy Love, so I’m looking forwarded to reading his new book Forgotten God: Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit. Here’s a two minute introduction by Chan:
