This guy NEVER gets old. Keith Green consistently brings me back to the basics AND to the cross of Christ. I grew up listening to this song and still need to sing it more and more every day.

Excellent find, Erik.
I, too, have been so blessed by Keith’s ministry and music, from when I first got saved. I bought all his albums and just wore them out — I tell you, to this day the cover from No Compromise is still the mental image I have every time I hear the word “compromise.”
In fact, my oldest son Josh (now 29 and in the process of getting his Masters at Univ. Portland up there in your country) sent me a message just last week, and in it he quoted some Keith Green lyrics from “Asleep in the Night”, asking me if I remembered how I used to play that song all the time when they were growing up
I didn’t know, but apparently he had played it for one of the chapels at PBC at which he spoke a few years earlier, and said it really touched the students. I guess having that type of music on all through the years paid off after all
His death was such a blow, very sad. But, like Leonard Ravenhill says, “he being dead, yet speaketh.”

John,
Ravenhill hit the nail on the head in regards to Green, except I’d use “singeth” in place of “speaketh.”

Yes, that’s better.
